George William Cartlidge

George William “Bill” Cartlidge 78, died Saturday, July 7, 2007 in Augusta, Georgia at the Georgia War Veteran’s Nursing Home after a long illness.
Bill was born in Macon, Georgia on August 9, 1928, he grew up in Savannah and attended Sacred Heart School and graduated from Benedictine Military School.
He was a United States veteran having served in the Korean War. Bill graduated from the University of Georgia with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Advertising Design. He was a former Art Director for Pidcock & Company in Savannah and was a Freelance Art Director in Atlanta for many years. Besides painting and being an artist, he played golf, loved baseball and enjoyed listening to classical music.
Surviving are, his wife, Jacquelyn Taylor Cartlidge of Hartwell, Georgia, a sister, Mary Cartlidge Persse of Rockledge, Florida, his son, G.W. “Bill” Cartlidge, Jr. of Cocoa Beach, Florida, his daughter and son-in-law, Ann and Mark Capallo of Lilburn, Georgia, his granddaughter, Britt Capallo of Carolina Beach, North Carolina and his grandson, Tom Capallo of Atlanta, Georgia.
Graveside Services will be Saturday, July 14, 2007 at 11 a.m. in the Catholic Cemetery in Savannah, Georgia.
